The Brazil I know

When I first arrived in San Francisco, I thought that most Americans knew a lot about Brazil and its beautiful places to go, lifestyle, and friendly people. Unfortunately, I was surprised to learn that many people had almost no knowledge or inaccurate knowledge of the largest South American country.  Of course, several things have changed over the years, especially after the explosion of social sites, but when I first came to the U.S, Brazil was an unfamiliar place for a lot of people.

Over time, I felt compelled to introduce my friends, coworkers, and others to the “Brazil” I know.  Under no circumstances do I plan to be an expert in everything about Brazil, but at the same time, I feel confident in my knowledge. The idea is to introduce you to a Brazil I have experienced once I lived there and the new knowledge I have acquired after several trips to visit my family and friends.

Unless you are an avid reader of specialized travel books and magazines, you will not find a lot of good news about Brazil. On the contrary, it appears that everything there is awful. This is not the Brazil I know, or my friends and family know. So, as I go on with my posts, I will show you the other side of Brazil.  Regardless of its problems, Brazil is a great country! Brazil has many options for different travelers’ styles and visitors in general. There is an array of things to do, a variety of food, and parties to enjoy. People are friendly, warm, and willing to help visitors.

Brazil is a country of continental dimensions, so it is impossible to know the country in just a few visits. Geopolitically, Brazil is divided into five regions: North, Northeast, Central-West, South, and Southeast. So, before you embark on a trip, decide which area you would like to see first. And unless you are planning a long vacation, do not try to visit all the famous tourist places at once as they are spread out all over this immense country.

If you want to experience Brazil well, choose a region less traveled by tourists. Learn a few things about our culture, then go on an adventure to tourist places. Brazil’s geographic regions are incredibly unique. Each area will have different relevance for you. It all depends on what your interests are.

Brazil is rich in natural surroundings, and it is also the water world of our planet. So, no matter what season you decide to go there, expect to enjoy the ocean, beaches, rivers, and an abundance of places and ways to appreciate the water!

Photos and videos say a lot about a region you want to visit. My focus will be on bringing you unique images of many places I visited. I intend to show you sites that are not necessarily tourist locales, and I want to get you information about places that Brazilians commonly visit. Locations where they go on vacation, restaurants where they eat, and how they enjoy life. As some photos will be posted on social sites, please follow us for updates!

It is challenging to talk about Brazil in just one post. So please keep coming back. And I promise you that you will be happy to know this great country with the confidence of someone that utterly understands how Brazil works. Unbiased, friendly, and honest.

And as I mentioned before, I will always try to bring you photos and videos to enrich your experience!
