Holiday Fun in Every Bite: Apple Pie Cookies Recipe to Keep Kids Busy!

Are you looking for something to keep your kids busy while cooking your holiday meal? The apple pie cookies will do it! This recipe is great for toddlers and up. It will keep them creating, and they will be able to enjoy their own work.

Quantity: 12 cookies

Ingredients:

All you need is a couple of packages of store-bought pie dough and a can of apple pie filling (plus one apple).

How to:

Dice the fresh apple into 1/2 inch or smaller chunks and mix with the canned pie filling. (There is never enough fruit in a can of pie filling.) Cut cookie-sized circles from most of the dough, then cut into thin strips (for the lattice) from the remaining.

Place the rounds on parchment or a silicone baking sheet. Place a fat teaspoon of filling in the center of each, then lay the strips of dough. If you like, sprinkle with decorative sugar and bake at 375 for 15-18 minutes or until golden brown.

Because everything is reduced in size, your cookies will be crisp, the filling will caramelize, and the taste will delight.

Cool before tasting.

Enjoy,

Mr. Fred
